Project Description:
The original F.K. Sweet Elementary School was built in the 1940's and with the exception of the art room, cafeteria, media center and kindergarten was completely demolished to make way for the new school. 26 classrooms for grades 1 through 5 were demolished. The new facility is 60,000 s.f. and consists of elementary classrooms, administration, art, music, computer labs, science and resource rooms and free-standing custodial / chiller plant facility.

A future classroom facility is planned to go between the new facility and North of the existing media building. Student drop-off and staff parking are located to the East of the school with the bus loop to the West.

Existing Covered P.E. and hard court amenities are located South of the existing cafeteria. The North facade is articulated with a projecting traingular waiting / administration area. Large store front windows accentuate the main facade and provide and abundance of daylight. A sunshade projects from the reception area and interfaces with a continuous covered walk, which extents around the campus to both parking areas.
